Outcomes Tools: Choose the Right Time Interval

Outcomes Tools Training > Outcomes Tools: Choose the Right Time Interval

When completing the Resident Survey, it is important to Choose the Right Time Interval

As mentioned before there are three time intervals for data collection:  at move-in, at six months into the stay, and at move out.

Survey questions are generally the same throughout but there are questions specific to each of these different time intervals.

AND implement the survey within one week of one of these time intervals.

Residents should be filling out the move-in survey within one week of moving in. If its now two weeks after move-in and the resident has not completed the survey, then DO NOT have the resident complete the move-in part of the survey, and wait until the next time interval (six month or move-out) is achieved to complete the survey.

Residents should be filling out the six-month into residency survey within that two weeks. One week before or one week after that six-month time interval. If the resident is close enough to that six-month point where we can collect good data, then have the resident take the survey.

If you have a resident that has living in your recovery house for more than six months and you are now starting the Outcomes Tools, then that resident has past the move-in and six month time interval and should only complete the move-out part of the survey.

Also, the Resident Survey’s six-month time interval is NOT every six months, but only the first six months of residency. Additionally, if a resident moves out before the six month time interval is achieved, then that resident only completes and submits the move-in and move-out part of the survey.

Residents should be filling out the move-out survey within one week of moving out. Either one week before move out, OR at move out, OR one week after moving out of the recovery home. If its now two weeks after move out and the resident has not completed the survey, then DO NOT have the resident complete that part of the survey.

Please note: once your organization is registered for the outcomes tool, ORH will send out reminders once a month to remind organizations to have the resident complete and submit the survey at the proper time interval.
