Resident Rights Statement: Legal Rights

Your resident rights statement should make it clear that your organization recognizes the legal rights of recovery housing residents. There are many different laws that apply to recovery housing and afford residents specific rights.

These laws include:

Federal and state fair housing laws
Landlord tenant laws
Privacy and confidentiality laws that protect resident information

Your resident rights statement should contain information on the legal rights that residents have under these laws.
