The resident rights statement must include the right to file a grievance in accordance with your recovery home’s Policies and Procedures.
A critical element of the social model of recovery is allowing residents the ability to participate in the governance of the home. Maintaining an appropriate grievance process is a minimal step to ensure that residents have this critical voice in the governing of the home.
A foundation to a grievance process is that residents must never be prevented from filing a grievance, however you may be clear that they must use the recovery home’s grievance process or procedure in doing so.
