Good Neighbor: Parking

 

One concern that usually comes up when neighbors are concerned about recovery housing is parking.

Neighbors may be worried that residents will have many cars, and that they will take up all of the parking on a street or block.  While it may be perfectly legal to park in front of a neighbor’s home or in a general parking lot, many recovery homes instruct residents not to park in these places – out of consideration toward to their neighbors.

The home must be clear in their resident Code of Conduct where residents and visitors are able to park their cars.

And the recovery home must also takes a proactive approach to ensuring that residents and visitors are not parking their cars in areas that are not allowable.
