Good Neighbor: Build Relationships with Local Leaders

Being a Good Neighbor in Recovery Housing > Good Neighbor: Build Relationships with Local Leaders

Building relationships with trusted community leaders can help in situations where neighbors may be upset about recovery housing.

Consider developing relationships with your local council members, faith leaders, or others that are well respected in the community.  These individuals can be helpful to you, as they can be advocates for you as trusted sources of information.  You can also help them be prepared for what they may experience, and give them the information and resources that they need so they can discuss issues with their neighbors with knowledge and confidence.
