Living in a recovery home gives residents an opportunity to live within a community. Not only are they living with others in recovery, but they are living within a larger neighborhood. Reaching out beyond the recovery home to the larger community can help residents feel connected and develop positive, pro-social skills that will continue to help them after they leave recovery housing.

Residents may also learn positive, pro-social activities and hobbies and build friendships that are not necessarily recovery related. These are all a positive ways for people to grow in their recovery and increase their overall well-being.
