Building relationships with trusted community leaders can help in situations where neighbors may be upset about recovery housing.
Consider developing relationships with your local council members, faith leaders and others who are well respected in the community. These individuals can be helpful to you, as they can be advocates for you as trusted sources of information. You can also help them be prepared to respond to community concerns by giving them the information and resources they need so they can discuss issues with neighbors with knowledge and confidence.
