Staff Code of Conduct: Lending or Borrowing Money

Prohibition on Lending or Borrowing Money with Residents:

Staff members must not lend or borrow money from residents under any circumstances.

Financial transactions between staff and residents can compromise professional boundaries and trust.  Such transactions may also led to financial exploitation of residents.  Even small things, like buying cigarettes for residents can lead to situations where boundaries may be crossed.

Staff should direct residents to appropriate resources for financial assistance if needed, such as a local bank.
