Resident Application and Move-In Evaluation: Separate Recovery Housing Application from Other Applications

Resident Application and Move-In Evaluation for Recovery Housing > Resident Application and Move-In Evaluation: Separate Recovery Housing Application from Other Applications

Maintain a Separate Recovery Housing Application

If a resident is applying for housing and is also interested in, or is already receiving, other services and supports offered by your larger agency, it is important to keep the application for housing separate.  Keeping your housing application and evaluation separate from other programs can help you avoid the appearance that your housing program is a treatment program. Be clear that residents have free choices in their providers for other programs and services, and ensure that residents are not offered housing as an inducement for participating in other programming.

It’s important to contact legal counsel for more guidance on avoiding inducements and kickbacks in your programming.
