While the recovery environment is critical, residents also need to help maintain a healthy and safe physical environment.  Helping residents set expectations about what is required to maintain a healthy household can help residents develop life skills.  As residents do chores and other basic housekeeping, they build confidence and take ownership of the environment, a critical aspect of the social model of recovery.  Additionally, residents will need to maintain the house to ensure that it is safe for everyone living in the home.  Use the prompt below to consider what residents will need to agree to in order to make sure that the house is physically clean, safe and healthy.
