The exterior of a recovery house should be in good condition and well maintained. Any yard space should also be well maintained and free from trash and debris. If there are any outbuildings or structures, such as garages, porches or fences, they need to be in good condition, too. All entrances and exits should be in good repair, fully functional and safe to use.
If the home allows smoking on the property, there must be a designated smoking area outside that has an appropriate container for cigarette butts.
The house should ensure good neighbor conditions. These include not using indoor furniture as outdoor furniture, and residents not using blankets, towels or other items to hang in windows.
