Incident Reporting Policy: Quality Improvement

Creating an Incident Reporting Policy for Recovery Housing > Incident Reporting Policy: Quality Improvement

Engage in continuous quality improvement.

It is not required that a recovery housing organization review incident reports on any set schedule.  However, it is a best practice to set aside time on a regular basis to review all incidents and determine if there are any trends among incidents.

Reviewing these incidents – outside of the time when they initially happen – will help a program take a broader view of the organization and its ability to implement policies and procedures.

An organization may identify a need for further staff training, recognize need for updating policies and procedures, or physical property improvements that need to be completed.
