Incident Reporting Policy: Reporting Incidents

In general, staff and residents should be encouraged to discuss any unusually happenings in the recovery home and default on the side of reporting the incident if they are unsure if it is a reportable incident.

When an incident occurs there should be a record of it – the incident report. This helps the recovery housing organization and the resident if the incident should ever develop into a grievance.

All staff members, regardless of their role or position is responsible for ensuring that incidents are reported promptly and appropriately in recovery housing.
