Incident Reporting Policy: Reporting Incidents

In general, staff and residents should be encouraged to discuss any unusual happenings in the recovery home and report the incident, even if they are unsure if it is a reportable incident. 

When an incident occurs, there should be a record of it: the incident report. This helps the recovery housing organization and the resident if the incident should develop into a grievance.

All recovery housing staff members, regardless of their role or position, are responsible for ensuring that incidents are reported promptly and appropriately.
