Emergency Preparedness: Community Relationships

Emergency and Disaster Preparedness for Recovery Housing > Emergency Preparedness: Community Relationships

It is a best practice to develop relationships with organizations in your community that prevent and respond to disasters and emergencies. These organizations in your community can help with your emergency preparedness.

For instance, the local Red Cross or fire department may offer free training or advice for your organization. If they have a newsletter, sign up to have access to the latest safety developments, tips and tricks and to stay informed. Take advantage of any of these free resources to help your organization become more prepared.

Taking these steps will help ensure your recovery home’s residents are safe in the event of an emergency or disaster.
