Emergency Preparedness: Smoking

There must be an appropriate location for smoking OUTSIDE. 

Smoking should not be permitted inside the home. The outside smoking area must have an appropriate container for any cigarette butts.

In the winter, residents may be tempted to use garages or other places in the home to smoke. Check to make sure residents are not smoking in these areas because this is a very common way that fires get started.
