Level I Homes

Level I homes are not monitored by staff but are run by individuals in recovery who are living in the house.  Residents must be able to monitor their own recovery, but also be at a place in their recovery journey where they can support others in their recovery as well as monitor the recovery environment within the recovery home.

Residents in a Level I must have at least six months of sustained non-use of illicit substances or alcohol, and must also demonstrate sufficient recovery capital, either through a recovery capital assessment, or a letter of reference or document from a previous stay in another recovery home that demonstrates that they have engaged in appropriate recovery planning and are ready for a stay in a Level I home.
