Level I Homes

Level I homes are not monitored by staff but are run by individuals in recovery who are living in the house. Residents must be able to monitor their own recovery and also be at a place in their recovery journey where they can support others and monitor the recovery environment within the recovery home.

Residents in a Level I must have at least six months of sustained recovery from using illicit substances or alcohol. They must also demonstrate sufficient recovery capital, either through a recovery capital assessment or a letter of reference or document from a previous recovery home demonstrating that they have engaged in appropriate recovery planning and are ready for a stay in a Level I home.
