Ethical Boundaries in Recovery Housing
- A common example of crossing a boundary is when a provider discloses personal information to a resident.
- The central concern from an ethics perspective is whether the disclosure serves the best interests of the resident.
- Harm or burden cannot be subjectively determined by the provider alone. Harm or burden, just like best interests, are better determined from the resident’s perspective.
