Visitor Policy: Confidentiality

Creating a Visitor Policy for Recovery Housing > Visitor Policy: Confidentiality

Maintaining confidentiality:

All visitors should be cautioned to keep any information they learn about residents during their visit confidential.

Visitors may see other community members, overhear conversations, or in general just gain knowledge about the recovery home.  They should be respectful of the things they see and hear and agree to keep them confidential for the privacy and safety of everyone.  This includes respecting residents’ personal stories, struggles, and experiences shared during the visit.

Maintaining confidentiality fosters trust and creates a safe space for residents to open up during visits.
