A house meeting can only be productive if residents feel safe to share openly with one another.
As previously discussed, setting ground rules can create a safe space.
It is also important that you take other steps to address inclusivity:
- Ensure that every person is welcomed and acknowledged.
- Create an agenda where each person is allowed to share.
- Be sure that inclusive language is used throughout the meeting.
- Openly address any discriminatory language or microaggressions that occur during the meeting.
